Each piece is hand made using techniques that even modern day machinery can not emulate. This gives each individual item it’s own uniqueness and sense of style.

The designer behind Antik Batik (Gabriella Cortese( was born in Italy and went on to live in Paris after travelling all over the world. She first shown an interest in fashion when her grandmother taught her the art of embroidery and dress making.

As time passed by Gabriella spent her fair share of time partying the nights away and eventually she settled in Indonesia for a while. It was in Bali that Gabriella discovered Batik, the ancient craft of printing on to fabric. These are the skills that helped to found the brand Antik Batik which was launched in France in 1992.

Gabriella contiued her world tour and picked up a whole range of influences, colours and desins. One of her most fond memories was the trip to India which taught her a wealth of acient skills, as well as the birth of her prét-a-porter accessories collection.

Today, the Antik Batik collection is well known for its tunics, kaftans and dresses. Much more than just a fashion label antik batik represents a lifestyle and encapsulates whole generations of ancient techniques.
